TL;DR

This guide covers the return of Anthropic's Claude Fable 5, offering 30 high-performance prompts and 8 technical secrets to help creators transition from micro-managing AI to goal-oriented automation.

Claude Fable 5, the strongest AI that once disappeared by order of the US government, returns tomorrow.

I have summarized what happened, why it disappeared, and what you can do starting tomorrow in a 5-minute guide.

I have also prepared 30 prompts to awaken Fable 5 in the second half of this article.

And at the end of the article, I will give away a Slide Creation GPT that can create slides and diagrams in one hit for free. I recommend [Saving] this post now so you don't forget to receive it.

On June 9, 2026, Anthropic announced Claude Fable 5.

I've been testing it since the announcement, and I'll be blunt: this wasn't just a level of "getting a bit smarter."

When video editing, which previously couldn't reach the itchy spots, came out with incredible quality in one hit, I actually resented my past efforts lol.

However.

Just three days after its release, Fable 5 vanished from the world. By order of the US government, all users were blocked from using it.

Creators worldwide were disappointed that it was taken away just as they started touching it. I was one of them.

But that Fable 5 is coming back tomorrow. First, let's talk about what happened.

■ 1: What happened in those 3 weeks (Record of disappearance to resurrection)

You won't understand this unless you follow the official announcements. Let's organize the timeline.

▼ June 9: Public release. Performance was off the charts.

Fable 5 is the first model in the "Mythos class" to be made available to the public. The higher-tier Mythos 5 is only given to defense partners (Project Glasswing) and limited organizations. The internals are almost identical; the difference is only the safety mechanisms. Details in ■ 2.

▼ June 13: Sudden total shutdown.

At 5:21 PM on June 12 US time (June 13 Japan time), Anthropic received an "Export Control Directive" from the US government. The content was to immediately stop Fable 5 and the higher-tier Mythos 5 for all users.

The reason was that a researcher found a way to bypass Fable 5's safety devices (jailbreak) by having it read a specific codebase to fix software bugs, and shared this with the government. The government judged it a national security concern and imposed an immediate stop.

Anthropic complied but clearly argued back:

"It is wrong to recall a commercial model used by hundreds of millions based on a single narrow loophole."

"This is a misunderstanding. We apologize for the confusion. We will restore it as soon as possible."

In short, it didn't disappear because its performance was dangerous. It was just stopped temporarily for political and security reasons. Please keep this in mind as it's often misunderstood.

▼ June 30: Regulation lifted. Resurrection tomorrow.

On the night of Tuesday, June 30, the US government lifted this export restriction. Anthropic has worked with the government to train a new safety device (classifier) that specifically targets and blocks that loophole.

Fable 5 will resume sequentially starting July 1 on Claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, etc. For Japanese users, it will be opened up sequentially from tomorrow onwards.

▼ However, it is not an "unconditional full release" (This is the most important part)

There are "conditions" explicitly stated by the official announcement for this resurrection. Please make sure to remember these.

  • Only available for paid plans (Pro / Max / Team / some Enterprise).
  • Usage is limited to "up to 50% of the weekly limit."
  • Furthermore, the period is until July 7. In other words, it's effectively limited to one week starting tomorrow.
  • From July 8 onwards, you will need to purchase credits (pay-as-you-go) to use it.

In other words:

"The only time you can try Fable 5 without additional subscription fees is for about one week from tomorrow until July 7. And the limit is half."

What you do in this one week will make a difference. You're not going to melt your limit making self-satisfying games that don't generate sales, right? You'll definitely regret it later lol.

■ 2: What is Claude Fable 5 in the first place?

Claude models have "classes."

  • Haiku: Light and fast
  • Sonnet: Balanced
  • Opus: The previous top tier

Now, a new class called "Mythos" has been created above these. The Mythos class consists of models that were too powerful to be released to the public. Previously, they were only used in limited places like government agencies and defense partners.

Fable 5 is the "same base model" as Mythos 5. The difference is only the safety mechanism. To use an analogy, it's like a commercial car with safety parts added to an F1 engine for road use. The engine inside is the same. In other words, a brain that ordinary people couldn't touch is now available to everyone.

■ 3: 5 Key Points of the Official Announcement

▼ Point ①: Performance is the best ever. The longer the task, the bigger the difference.

It has updated record highs in almost all benchmarks (AI academic tests). Just one easy number: in coding ability measured by SWE-Bench Pro, Opus 4.8 is 69.2%, while Fable 5 is 80.3%.

Official examples were also off the charts. Stripe shortened months of development to days, it cleared Pokemon just by looking at the screen, and it outperformed specialized AI in protein design. The official statement explicitly says "the gap widens for longer and more complex tasks." This is the most important point for creators.

▼ Point ②: Only dangerous questions automatically switch to the old model (New Safety Device)

With this resurrection, Fable 5 has a new safety device (classifier). it targets the specific jailbreak method and blocks it over 99% of the time. For blocked questions, Opus 4.8 automatically responds instead, and the user receives a notification saying "switched." For publishing and business use, you'll almost never hit this. However, as a side effect, the official acknowledges that "excessive blocking (false positives)" might increase slightly during coding or debugging, which they plan to improve.

▼ Point ③: API price is $10 Input / $50 Output

For developers, the API price is $10 input and $50 output per million tokens. That's exactly double Opus 4.8. However, people who just use the app don't need to remember this. It's honestly expensive. Just saying hello to Claude Fable will cost you over 100 yen lol.

▼ Point ④: Free trial is only "1 week, half limit"

This is the most important part (same as ■ 1, but repeated for importance). For Pro / Max / Team / some Enterprise, Fable 5 is open without additional charge until July 7, up to 50% of the weekly limit. From July 8, it's a credit system. In other words, the only time to try it risk-free is for about one week starting tomorrow, and only for half the limit. Your sense will be tested by what you do during this period.

▼ Point ⑤: Data is kept for 30 days, but not used for training

For safety monitoring, the policy is to retain relevant usage data for 30 days. It is explicitly stated that it will not be used for training new models. After 30 days, almost everything is deleted. You don't need to worry about "input content being used for training without permission."

■ 4: How Creators Should Use It

I'll give you the conclusion: change your usage from "AI that writes instructions" to "AI that you give goals to."

Actually, something shocking is written in Anthropic's official prompt guide.

"Detailed instructions created for older models may actually degrade output quality in Fable 5."

In other words, the common sense that "the more detailed the prompt, the better" has ended with this model. You only need to give Fable 5 this set of three:

  • Goal (What constitutes completion)
  • Completion conditions (Quantity, format, quality line)
  • Scope of delegation (How much it can decide on its own)

The official also states "the gap widens for longer and more complex tasks" and "it is suitable for handling hours to weeks of human work entirely." Human work changes from "process management" to "goal design."

Before I started using AI, I was paying 100,000 yen a month to outsourcing. Even then, I couldn't keep up with the work, and my time with my family was disappearing. Now, outsourcing costs are almost zero. One blog post takes 30 minutes, and a newsletter takes 30 minutes.

What I learned from the outsourcing era is that the more talented a person is, the better they work when given a "goal and judgment criteria" rather than "step-by-step instructions." Fable 5 has finally reached the level where it can do that as an AI.

Here are 3 specific recommendations for creators:

  • Recommendation ①: End-to-end delegation Run everything from idea generation → structure → writing → repurposing in a single instruction.
  • Recommendation ②: Feed it massive amounts Paste 30 past posts and 10 competitor posts to have it analyze them entirely.
  • Recommendation ③: Show it visually Give it screenshots of insights, competitor thumbnails, or handwritten notes as images.

And one more thing. While digging through official documents, I found several specifications that almost no one is talking about.

■ 5: 8 "Hidden Specs" 99% of People Don't Know (Unearthed from official docs)

These are specifications written in Anthropic's official prompt guide that almost no one in the Japanese-speaking world is touching. You can use all of them as-is on the chat screen starting tomorrow.

▼ Hidden Spec ①: Saying "Show me your entire thought process" switches it to the old model

This is the biggest trap. Fable 5 has a safety device that detects "thought extraction." Instructions like "write out your thought process as it is" can trigger this. If triggered, the response automatically switches to Opus 4.8. You might think you're using Fable 5 but are actually reading an answer from the old model. This can easily happen. If you want to know the reasoning, just ask "Explain the basis for reaching this conclusion."

▼ Hidden Spec ②: Adding a word about "Why you want it" improves output quality

The official recommended request template is this: "I am doing [Task] for [Who]. The recipient wants to be able to [What they can do with the output]. Based on that: [Request]." When Fable 5 understands the "intent" of the request, it picks up and acts on related information you didn't even mention. Just adding one line of background. It's the best cost-performance improvement.

▼ Hidden Spec ③: "Cutting" instructions makes it smarter

Using prompts built for older models as-is can become a shackle for Fable 5. If you feel it's not moving well, try cutting instructions instead of adding them. It's counter-intuitive, but it's the official recommendation.

▼ Hidden Spec ④: You can eliminate "lies" about progress with one sentence

When given long tasks, AI sometimes reports "done" for work it hasn't actually completed. A sentence that reduced this to almost zero in Anthropic's internal tests has been released:

"Before reporting, please verify all claims against actual work results. Clearly mark any work for which evidence cannot be shown as 'unverified'."

Paste this at the beginning when delegating for long periods.

▼ Hidden Spec ⑤: There is a sentence to stop overthinking

Because Fable 5 is smart, it can sometimes be too cautious in its considerations.

"Once you have enough information to act, proceed without confirming. No explanation of unselected options is necessary."

Adding this eliminates the back-and-forth of "What should I do?" and allows it to run to the end.

▼ Hidden Spec ⑥: If it stops midway, just 4 characters "Continue" is enough

In long sessions, it rarely happens that it just declares "I will do XX next" and stops. This is a specification, not a malfunction. Just reply with "Continue" or "Finish it to the end" to restart it.

▼ Hidden Spec ⑦: Let a "separate chat" do the verification

This is a surprising official view. Rather than asking "Review this" in the same chat, the accuracy of verification is higher if you paste it into a brand-new separate chat and ask it to "Find flaws." Have a new chat give your articles or scripts a harsh review.

▼ Hidden Spec ⑧: Having it note down lessons grows it into your "Personal AI"

This is the officially recommended operation. Every time a task is finished, ask: "Summarize my preferences and corrections learned in this interaction into a bulleted memo." Paste that memo at the start of the next chat. By repeating this, the number of corrections will steadily decrease. The ▼ 13 (Style Profiling) and ▼ 30 (AI Alter Ego) introduced later are based on this mechanism for creators.

■ 6: 30 Prompts to 100% Utilize Fable 5

Usage is simple. Copy and paste, then replace the content inside the [ ] with your own. All 30 are designed with the "Background → Goal → Completion Conditions → Scope of Delegation" template based on the hidden specs in ■ 5.

  • Do not specify procedures. Leave the process to Fable 5 (Hidden Spec ③).
  • For those handling facts or numbers, an audit sentence "Clearly mark as unverified" is included (Hidden Spec ④).
  • Prevents mid-task stops with the sentence "Proceed until the end without confirmation" (Hidden Spec ⑤).

Don't hold back. The trick is to delegate the whole thing.

─── Category ①: Research & Idea Generation ───

A category to fully utilize Fable 5's "ability to research deeply and think through."

I am a creator in [Your Genre]. I want to understand what is currently growing in the market to increase my sources for post ideas. Goal: To obtain 10 post ideas (with temporary titles) that can be used starting tomorrow. Completion Conditions: There must be an analysis of growing themes and reasons, low-competition targets, and themes to avoid, with the 10 ideas linked to that analysis. I leave the research method, depth, and summary to you. Once information is gathered, proceed to the end without confirmation. Attach sources for numbers and facts, and clearly mark anything that couldn't be verified as "unverified."

▼ 02: Persona's 1-Day Simulation

I leave the type and order of elements to you.

▼ 09: Write a Long-form Article End-to-End

I am a creator in [Your Genre] and want to release a long-form article to build reader trust. Goal: Complete a 5,000-character article on [Theme]. Completion Conditions: Must be backed by specific examples and numbers, and include a "summary table" that readers will want to save. I leave all progress of structure, research, and writing to you. No confirmation with me is needed during the process. Verify numbers and facts in the article on the web, and clearly mark anything that couldn't be confirmed as "unverified."

▼ 10: 10 AB Test Hook Proposals

I want to strengthen the first line of the following post. Goal: 10 hook patterns and the strongest one (with reason). Completion Conditions: Each proposal must be labeled with the targeted psychology (curiosity, fear, empathy, unexpectedness, etc.). I leave the choice of psychology to you. [Paste post]

Completion Conditions: Tone, sentence endings, rhythm, phrasing, and emoji habits must be verbalized at a level where a third party can reproduce them. I leave the analytical perspective to you. [Paste 20 past posts]

▼ 14: Translation for Middle Schoolers

I want to make the following text accessible to followers with zero specialized knowledge. Goal: A rewritten version that a middle schooler can understand. Completion Conditions: Zero technical terms. Two or more analogies. A flow that makes sense and clicks when finished. I leave the choice of analogies and structure to you. [Paste text]

▼ 15: 1 Content → 5 Platform Repurposing

I want to expand this one piece of content and reuse it across multiple platforms. Goal: 5 formats: ① 3 X posts ② 5 Instagram feed slides ③ 4 Stories slides ④ 1 Newsletter ⑤ Short video script. Completion Conditions: Must be optimized for each platform's characteristics (character count, tempo, CTA) and not feel like a copy-paste reuse. I leave the order and method of conversion to you. No confirmation with me is needed during the process. [Paste source content]

─── Category ④: Image & Screenshot Utilization ───

This is where Fable 5's image recognition shines. Please attach images to use these.

Completion Conditions: Analysis of common laws (color scheme, text amount, composition) and "reasons for catching the eye" across the 5 images must be the basis for the instruction sheet. I leave the analytical process to you. [Attach 5 thumbnail screenshots]

▼ 18: Harsh Review of Profile Screen

I will paste a screenshot of my profile screen. I want to increase the follow rate. Goal: 3 improved profile text proposals. I leave it to you whether to increase the diagnostic perspectives. [Attach profile screen screenshot]

▼ 19: Creating a Diagram Blueprint

I want to turn [Theme] into a single diagram and post it. Goal: Instruction text that can be handed to an image generation AI or a designer as-is. Completion Conditions: Layout, elements to include, and eye flow must be decided so the recipient can create it without hesitation. I leave the selection of information to you.

▼ 20: Handwritten Memo → Post Conversion

I will paste a photo of a handwritten memo (or whiteboard). I want to create posts from this. Goal: 3 SNS post drafts. Completion Conditions: All content of the memo must be digitized and structured before becoming posts. I leave the structure to you. Do not guess illegible parts; clearly mark them as "illegible." [Attach photo of memo]

─── Category ⑤: Strategy & Analysis ───

▼ 21: Full Account Diagnosis

I will paste my profile text and 30 recent posts. I want to break through the account's stagnation. Goal: An improvement plan for the next 30 days. Completion Conditions: Must include a diagnosis of the current position, the difference between posts that grew and those that didn't, and pointing out conceptual misalignments with evidence. Must be at the level of a management consultant's harsh review. I leave the analytical process to you. No confirmation with me is needed during the process. [Paste profile text and 30 recent posts]

▼ 22: 30-Day Content Calendar

I am a creator in [Genre]. I want to eliminate the time spent thinking "what should I post today" every day. Goal: A 30-day content calendar (table format). Completion Conditions: Post [Number] times a week. Idea ratio is "Know-how 4: Empathy 3: Achievement 2: Announcement 1." Temporary title and intent for each day. I leave the content and order of ideas to you. Output all at once without confirmation.

▼ 23: Funnel Design

I want to organize the flow to connect SNS posts to sales. Current status: Followers [Number], Product [Product Name/Price], List [Presence of LINE/Newsletter]. Goal: An overall funnel diagram from posting to purchase, and numerical targets for each stage. Completion Conditions: Potential bottlenecks and countermeasures must be pointed out. Calculation basis must be attached to numerical targets. I leave the design process to you. If information is missing, please ask all questions at once first.

▼ 24: KPI Back-calculation from Goals

I want to achieve [Goal Example: 10,000 followers in 6 months]. Goal: Monthly KPIs and required number of posts. Completion Conditions: Must include a judgment of "whether it's realistic." If impossible, provide alternatives. Calculation basis must be shown. Please ask me for the current numbers needed for calculation first. Once gathered, output to the end without confirmation.

I will paste my background, achievements, likes, and complexes in bullet points. I want to take a position that doesn't get buried among competitors. Goal: The most winnable positioning proposal and its title/concept text. Completion Conditions: Comparison of 3 proposals and the basis for "why this can win" must be included. I leave the design of evaluation axes to you. [Paste bullet points]

─── Category ⑥: Systematization & Advanced ───

From "delegating tasks" to "delegating management." Long and complex tasks are Fable 5's forte.

▼ 26: AI Sorting of Publishing Tasks

I want to sort my publishing tasks into parts to delegate to AI and parts to do myself. Goal: A sorting table of "Fully delegate to AI / Share with AI / Human does" and instruction text that can be used as-is for delegation/sharing. Process: First, please interview me about my weekly publishing tasks. I leave the method and order of asking to you. Once you judge the material is gathered, proceed to sorting without confirmation.

▼ 27: Have it Create a Personal Prompt Collection

I want to create a prompt collection for myself. The genre is [Genre], and frequent tasks are [Example: Post creation, Reel script, DM reply]. Goal: A template collection (with usage instructions) that can be used just by filling in the [ ]. Completion Conditions: Each template must be in a format that passes "Goal, Completion Conditions, and Scope of Delegation." I leave the structure and summary to you.

▼ 28: Weekly Review Template

I will paste this week's numbers and impressions. I want to decide next week's moves. Goal: 3 key actions for next week and a reusable recording template for every week. Completion Conditions: Factor analysis must be attached to changes in numbers. The "reproduction method" for what went well must be verbalized. I leave the depth of analysis to you. Do not state things that cannot be said from data as facts; mark them as "speculation." [Paste this week's numbers and impressions]

▼ 29: End-to-End Product Design

I want to create a product to sell to followers. Goal: Product design (content, price, bonuses) and the flow to sales. Process: Please interview me for necessary information one question at a time. Please provide 3 product concept proposals and let me choose. I leave other judgments to you. Please start with the first question.

▼ 30: Growing Your Own "AI Alter Ego"

I want to create an "AI Alter Ego" of myself. Goal: A "Personality Profile Document" that allows any AI chat to write in my persona when pasted. Process: Draw out my values, background, and way of thinking through an interview. One question at a time, aiming for about 15 questions. I leave the design of the questions to you. Once you judge the material is gathered, write up the profile without confirmation.

■ 7: How to Start and Precautions (For Beginners)

Starting is a 3-step process:

  • ① Open the Claude app (Smartphone/PC).
  • ② Select "Fable 5" in the model selection (Paid plan Pro or higher).
  • ③ Copy and paste one of the prompts above and send it.

That's it. No terminal or programming knowledge required. Just switch the model on the usual chat screen.

Only 3 precautions:

  • Free plans are not eligible. This is a gradual rollout for paid plans.
  • Usage without additional charge is "up to 50% of the weekly limit until July 7." From July 8, it's a credit system. If you're going to try it, do it this week.
  • The final check of numbers and facts produced by AI is a human's job. This won't change even as models evolve.

■ 8: Summary

  • Fable 5 is a Mythos-class brain that once disappeared by government order. It returns tomorrow.
  • The reason it disappeared was not performance danger, but political and security reasons called export controls.
  • New safety devices block that specific method over 99% of the time. No restrictions for over 95% of uses.
  • Trial without additional charge is "half the weekly limit until July 7." Try it this week.
  • Pass "Goal + Completion Conditions + Scope of Delegation" instead of an instruction sheet.
  • If stuck, return to the 8 hidden specs in ■ 5. Especially watch out for the "Show me your thoughts" trap.
  • You can use the 30 prompts as they are.

One last thing. Models will continue to be replaced. Like this time, they will disappear and return. But the "design ability to delegate work to AI" will remain even if the model changes. Fable 5 is the best partner to train that design ability. Start by copy-pasting one prompt.
