TL;DR

The author explores the power of Codex's /goal command, noting its ability to autonomously refine strategies through hundreds of iterations, potentially reaching a technological singularity in task automation.

Codex's "/goal"

I feel like I've understood the essence of how to use it.

Without exaggeration, in certain domains, this might already be the singularity.

The way this system handles the PDCA cycle is incredible.

Specifically, when the repetition of C (Check) and A (Act) runs with precision and speed far beyond human capability, this is what happens... that's the feeling.

When a human tries to achieve a goal:

They decide what to do, take action, get results, analyze them, determine the direction for the next action, and then take that next action.

It's a simple mechanism where if the precision of CA is high, you keep ascending and can achieve the goal.

However, if the precision of the "Check" (C) and the effectiveness of the resulting "Action" (A) are mediocre, the PDCA cycle becomes meaningless. In other words, you can't achieve the goal.

The more difficult the goal setting, the harder this PDCA becomes.

For complex phenomena, there are limits to the amount of information humans can handle during analysis, as well as differences in ability; deciding where to focus for the next action plan requires experience or a certain "sense."

↑ Codex's "/goal" is incredibly good at this.

It looks at the results obtained, automatically works for over 24 hours on what to consider next regarding the gap from the goal, what considerations to make, what to try next... this repetition exceeds the precision of me looking at results each time and giving instructions via prompts. I lost. orz

Well, for this project, if it actually reaches the goal, that's more than enough, so I don't mind whatever it takes as long as it gets it done.

Even as I write this article, it's still running, and tokens are steadily decreasing.

It definitely won't last until July 2nd. But there are still 3 resets left.

But looking at the progress, it doesn't seem like it's firing blanks or getting lost without reaching the goal.

The "S230" in the thumbnail means the 230th approach.

And the evaluation score is steadily rising.

If this actually achieves the goal exactly as requested, it will realize a basic income for me. (lol)

Having used it this much, my understanding of Codex and /goal has deepened, so next, I plan to summarize the tips for mastering it.
